I’ve been using whatever I like like affinity V, element build up V, and extra slot. It's a way of saying the weapon provides too much output for not enough input, as compared to other weapons. So, it's a slashing weapon with the ability to KO, has lance level blocks when the shield is charged with a perfect block mechanic, and now has mind's eye (no bouncing hits) with sword attacks when the blade is charged. Diablos Tyrannis II is a Charge Blade Weapon in Monster Hunter World (MHW). Hammer has no defense, but is highly mobile IMO. In 4U you lose the red shield after an ultra, but in world you keep it. IMO, that mechanic alone is more complicated then whatever complexity CB users tout to SAED spam. I think the slide shouldve been added to SnS instead. Comparing these two weapons I think you'll begin to understand my point, If your final attack of the 4 hit long Spirit combo doesn't hit something, you won't go up a spirit level, plus you've now used up all of your spirit gauge, If Spirit Thrust [R2+Tri] hits a monster, you will be forced into a long animation where you have no defence and minimal control, and it doesn't matter if you haven't even begun the animation for the helm-splitter, you've already lost a Spirit Level, Even though the weapon guide displays "Press triangle for Helm Splitter" it has no effect, and you cannot recover from a whiffed Spirit Thrust. The only time this changes is if there's more than one monster present (including adds); the CB is able to charge up faster when there's more hitboxes. It's not the first time I read something along this line, and I wonder: why players feel like the CB deserves to be higher than that, or that it should return to the top spots? To really love CB you have to be very knowlegable about its moveset, blocking, and charging complexities. Since the Charge Blade is most effective when its phials are fully charged, focus on increasing your attack damage, while at the same time lowering the time you need to charge up your phials. Iceborne Charge Blades are Master Rank Charge Blades in Monster Hunter World Iceborne (MHW). Others may have a higher sustained dps but the charge blade has the strongest single damage move in the game coupled with a hyper armor shield. I might go back to maining it for MHW. and now you can buff your sword with the red shield. It's extremely satisfying, especially when they come at you, get GP'd and knocked unconscious.
